About Us
At Building Beyond, we believe that the answers to a more resilient future lie in remembering and sharing ancestral wisdom and technologies to build the communities we want to live in.
We are a group of dreamers and doers who are building together both online and on land.
Our journey began during the pandemic when Lee (a geographer and tiny home community builder) started getting requests from people to help them build communities on their land.
One of these projects was led by Erika (a curandera/healer) who was stewarding a land project in South Texas (Tierrita Grande).
While working together, we quickly realized that many people struggle to envision living beyond our current systems. They are feeling lost while also feeling the call for a deeper connection to their roots, lands and ancestral wisdom.
As a result, Building Beyond was born - a platform in which to connect and create by:

Honoring Ancestral Wisdom: We tap into the wisdom and technologies of our ancestors, remembering other ways of living and being on this Earth.

Harnessing Emerging Technologies: We use video games and digital twins to connect, design, and bring our visions to life.

Building Together: We're not just building online in the metaverse. We're building real-world communities on the land too, like Tierrita Grande.
